Viele Stücke der CD entstanden unterwegs; und die meisten der Themen wurden durch das Spiel auf meinen Flöten lebendig. Der Augenblick, der Reflex des Raumes, die Atmosphäre der Situation haben
immer mitkomponiert. Zusammen mit dem brasilianischen Gitarristen Anisio Dias erfand ich in einer Höhle in den Bergen von Minas Gerais (Brasilien) das Stück "Flying elephants". Schon als
Kind faszinierte mich der lebendige Klang der Quena die ich später in Bolivien wirklich kennenlernte. Die Quena und die tiefer gestimmten Quenachos sind die Bambusflöten der Indios, eine Art Kerbflöten,
die man vor einigen Jahrhunderten auch in Europa gespielt hat.
I composed many of the CD's tracks while I was travelling and most of the themes came alive by playing them on my flutes. The
moment, the reflection of the surrounding, the atmosphere of the situation were composing with me. Together with the Brasilian guitarist Anisio Dias I wrote the track "Flying elephants" in a
cave of the mountains of Minas Gerais (Brazil). Even when I was a child I was fascinated by the Quena, which I really got to know later on in Bolivia. The Quna and the lower tuned Quenachos are the
bamboo flutes of the Indios - similar flutes have also been played in Europe some centuries ago.
Muitas das músicas deste CD foram compostas durante as muitas viagens que tenho
realizado. A maioria dos temas foram tomando forma através do som das minhas flautas. O momento, o reflexo do ambiente, a atmosfera da situaão foram elementos essenciais para a realizaão desse
trabalho. A música “Flying elephants“ foi criada numa gruta em MG, juntamente com o violonista mineiro Anísio Dias. Além da flauta transversa, outro som presente no disco é o da Quena,
instrumento que me fascina desde a minha infância, e que vim a conhecer na Bolívia. Quena e Quenachos (de afinaão mais grave) são flautas de bambu tocadas pelos índios. Flautas semelhantes eram tocadas
na Europa, há alguns séculos atrás.
